A MIX'D TAPE: SINCE YOU ARRIVED (2004) is a photo-text narrative piece created in collaboration with AIDS Project Los Angeles's educational director, Patrick 'Pato' Hebert, for their journal Corpus. As a kind of non-traditional community outreach, Corpus deploys art, creative writing, and cultural criticism to address issues in HIV/AIDS prevention in gay and bisexual communities. a mix'd tape: since you arrived layers photographic images of tchotchkes, references to pop and R&B music, and semi-autobiographical accounts to explore the erotics of growing up in Southeast San Diego.
